Location. True to its name, Inn on Main Street is located on Main Street in Weaverville, N.C. Weaverville is known for its quiet, artsy, small town atmosphere. The inn is near art and craft galleries, restaurants and shopping. Downtown Asheville is a six mile drive away and Lake Louise, in the Smoky Mountains, is also nearby. The Biltmore Estate, a 250 room French chateau style mansion designed by Frederick Law Olmsted for the Vanderbilt family, is about a 20 minute drive from the Inn on Main Street. Area recreational activities include fishing, whitewater rafting, hiking and golfing.
Hotel Features. This century old Victorian bed and breakfast is teeming with period antiques. The huge porches provide a venue to relax and enjoy the mountain skyline and koi pond. A complimentary breakfast is served daily. Each meal is served family style and includes a specially prepared main entrée. The house specialty is frittatas. Special dietary requirements can be accommodated. Each evening a variety of beverages is served with an appetizer.
Guestrooms. Inn on Main Street offers seven rooms furnished with antiques. All have private baths, some with whirlpool tubs for two. Most feature a gas fireplace. All rooms have cable television.
Expert Tip. The Weaverville Art Safari is held every year during the last weekend of April and the first weekend of November. These self guided tours of local artists' studios are timed to coincide with the emerging spring and fall seasons.
