Location. Occupying one half acre of landscaped lawn and gardens in the quiet historical district of Napa, Calif., the Inn on Randolph is approximately one mile from downtown shops, restaurants and attractions. The Napa Town Center and the Napa Valley Opera House are just one half mile from the inn.
Hotel Features. The Inn on Randolph consists of four buildings: The Main House, a Gothic Revival Victorian home built in 1860, and three cottages added in the 1930's, all of which have been restored and individually furnished. Premium wines are served in the parlor, and sing alongs around a grand piano are common. Stone pathways meander through gardens planted with perennials and evergreens. Various sitting areas and a hammock are situated throughout the garden. A hot breakfast is served each morning, along with a complimentary afternoon tea. Also available on site are a game room, library and business services. The Inn on Randolph is proudly "TV free."
Guestrooms. Luxury rooms and cottage suites, described by the property as "full of frills without being frilly," are individually decorated and furnished. Bathrobes, cordless telephones and shower massages are included in each unit. Cottage suites and luxury rooms include cable televisions with VCRs, CD players, fireplaces, balconies or patios and whirlpool baths. Additionally, cottage suites have kitchen facilities. Sophisticated decor balances both masculine and feminine tastes, making these accommodations comfortable for both sexes.
Expert Tip. One of the more interesting previous residents of the inn was a midwife, who successfully delivered over 100 babies in one of the home's original parlors.
