Location. Lakeland Village occupies a secluded setting on the southern shore of cobalt blue Lake Tahoe in the city of South Lake Tahoe, Calif. The base lodge of Heavenly Ski Resort is less than two miles from Lakeland Village, and the resort's gondola is accessible three quarters of one mile away. Complimentary shuttle service to the ski gondola, base lodges, and attractions throughout South Lake Tahoe is provided.
Features. Lakeland Village is set on 19 wooded acres fronting one quarter mile of private beach on Lake Tahoe. In the winter, complimentary continental breakfasts are served in the Lakeshore Room or lobby, and a ski shop rents and sells equipment. Wireless Internet access is available in public areas for a fee. A heated pool, children's wading pool, and a six person spa are open in the summer, with an adjacent deck offering barbecue grills and lounge chairs. Beach volleyball, a snack shack and two pay to play tennis courts are also available. A courtyard next to a garden terrace contains a year round pool and eight person spa. Two saunas are provided in a separate building. Organized children's activities are offered from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
Guestrooms. Suites and townhomes occupy the resort's main lodge and 26 three story buildings throughout the resort's grounds. All accommodations include wood burning fireplaces and private balconies with views of the Lake Tahoe mountain terrain. Kitchenettes with mini fridges, four burner ranges, microwave ovens, dishwashers and coffeemakers are provided in studio units and one bedroom suites. All other accommodations contain full kitchens. Cable television with premium channels, VCRs and CD players/stereos are included.
Expert Tip. The resort offers wood for the in unit fireplaces for a fee, and will deliver it right to the guest units upon request.
