Location. Nestled in the Skylands region of Stanhope, N.J., this Main Street bed and breakfast is walking distance to antique shops, restaurants, and nearby Lake Musconetcong. Hotel Features. This Victorian home was built in 1905 by Daniel Best, a Justice of the Peace, for his wife, Sarah. After passing through six families, the inn underwent extensive restoration in 1985. A porch overlooks the inn's garden, and a side yard hammock is available for guest's use. Sherry and homemade cookies are served next to a crackling fire in the guest parlor. Complimentary country breakfast buffets are offered daily.
